Robin George Collingwood (1889-1943) was an influential English philosopher and historian known for his contributions to the philosophy of history. He emphasized that history cannot be understood without "re-enacting" the thoughts of historical figures, a method he argued is essential for grasping the past's complexities. His ideas blend elements of Kantian criticism and Hegelian idealism, positioning him within historical idealism. Collingwood believed that all history is essentially the history of thought, asserting that understanding human actions requires examining the underlying thoughts that motivated them.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF HISTORY
Foucault argued that power and knowledge are interrelated. According to him, power not only operates through repressive control, but also through the creation and regulation of knowledge. Power determines what is considered "truth" in society. Meanwhile, Nietzsche is famous for "God its tot" where God is dead because we have killed him. This is not actually a divine object, but rather the meaning of this expression does not literally mean that God as a divine entity has died, but rather is a philosophical metaphor referring to major changes in Western culture and thought.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF HISTORY
In the third meeting yesterday, we discussed the philosophers Rostow and Toynbee. In Rostow's philosophy, we explain about economic growth that goes through 5 stages. However, in my opinion, Rostow's theory of economic growth does not take into account the social and political factors that continue to develop.
Meanwhile, Arnold Toynbee's philosophy mainly focuses on the study of history and civilization. He analyzes how civilizations emerge, develop, and face challenges. Toynbee argues that society's response to challenges—both from the environment and internally—determines the fate of that civilization. He emphasizes the importance of creativity and innovation in dealing with crises as the key to the survival of a civilization.

The Philoshopy of History
Today was the second meeting of the philosophy of history course with the usual combined class, class 2023AEI. You can imagine how many people are joined in one room with the air conditioner off. My friends and I struggled to withstand the pouring of sweat water and the heat in the room with approximately 80 humans.
But with me presenting with my friend jatmiko is a cool experience because we use English. we look forward to this presentation because previously we have fried the material very well. do not forget to say a word of admiration to professor nasution with his way of teaching that always invites questions of unrest for me.
